A logbook and medical journal by Alexander Coventry, Assistant Surgeon, HEIC WARREN HASTINGS, from Portsmouth leaving on 21 February 1833 to 7 June at Madras; later at Saugor on 18 June; Whampoa on 14 October; St Helena on 6 March 1834; Downs on 30 April 1834. Commanded by Captain Thomas Sandy esq.

Administrative / biographical background
WARREN HASTINGS was built in 1808 was 154ft and weighed 1000 tons, 3 decks. Thomas Sandys was born 14th September 1792 Graythwaite Hall, Hawkshead, South Lakeland to Myles and Elizabeth Sandys.
