Diary containing several different parts and contributers, chiefly an account of the arctic expedition of 1875-1876 written in pencil by W.P. Woolley of HMS ALERT; photograph of W.P. Wolley in arctic gear; service certificate; letter from the officer in charge of the sledge party, left with Woolley when he was staying with a sick companion in a snow dugout (with explanatory note); newspaper cutting (1934) marking Woolley's 83rd birthday; photocopied letters between donor and NMM.
